The National Under17 Women’s football players are brimming with confidence ahead of OFC play off in Cook Islands.
The squad is currently in the camp in Ba and not leaving any stones unturned in their preparations.
It will be the first time for these girls to play at an international level.
For 16 year old Silina Adi-mai-wai-qara-waqa, being part of the squad is a dream come true for her.
“Iam working really hard and putting up my effort just to be in the national under 17 girls team. This will be my first time representing Fiji, I usually play for my district and school”, said Silina Adimaiwaiqarawaqa.
However she knows all too well what will it take to be part of the final squad.
“In order for me to get into the team, first thing is discipline, the way you act amongst your colleagues. So far I have been positive and i know I am good”,said Silina.
Just like Silina, Miriama Bakaniceva is also another player who has high hopes to be part of the team to Cook Islands.
“I dint believe myself that I will be here. It was my parents that told me to be proud of myself and it was through discipline and behavior that I was in the U17 soccer team’, said Miriama Bakaniceva.
The 16 year old Tailevu lass is not leaving any stones unturned to improve on her skills.
The side will face hosts Cook Islands, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea during the playoff.
