Volunteers unite to help FRU

indexThe Volunteer Fundraising group which has unite to help Fiji Rugby Union in sending Fiji 7s and Fijiana side to Rio Olympic Games is expecting a better response from the public.

This group will go out publically collecting funds from both teams.

The fans and spectators will also have a chance to meet the Fiji 7s players during the public session later in the year.

“Fiji’s Road to Gold” campaign was officially launched by the Primer Minister and F-R-U President Voreqe Bainimarama at the Fiji Sports Council headquarters today.

The group is co-chaired by the Fiji Sports Council Chief Executive Officer Litiana Loabuka and Lawrence Tikaram of Coca Cola Amital.

And with the support from the public – this group expects to collect around 800 thousand dollars before the Fiji 7s and the Fijiana side participate at the Rio Olympics.

They have mapped out plans with the first fundraiser at the  the Nadi International Airport next month.
