The National Disaster Management Office has urged people to bring in their own food supplies if they take shelter at any evacuation center.
The Office has yet to look into the supply of basic needs if more centers are to open.
The Office is closely monitoring the weather condition.
“Food supply and water supply nothing has been planned at the moment. It’ll depend on whats being provided on the ground. We would expect as people move into the evacuation centers to actually take their foods with them that can last a few days but that hasn’t come in yet”
“During this type of situation they should have now done their stocking, they should have already trimmed their trees, they should have already cleared their drains” said Akapusi Tuifagalele – Director NDMO
