New Zealand Football will consult with its executive committee and have further meetings with prospective candidates before deciding who to vote for in the FIFA presidential election.
CEO Andy Martin and board president Deryck Shaw have met with one of the candidates, Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, in Auckland today, as part of a fleeting visit.
Shaw said the meeting ahead of next month’s elections provided more information on Prince Ali’s manifesto ahead of the election.
NZF voted for the Jordanian prince in last year’s farcical election last year, won by Sepp Blatter.
But Shaw won’t say whether they’ll do so again.
Shaw said he’s the third candidate they’ve met with and they look forward to sharing their thoughts with New Zealand Football’s executive committee and Oceania Football in the coming weeks.
