Land is being cleared in Nadawa for a major residential and commercial development.
Nasinu Town Council, CEO, Akhtar Ali,said the cost of the development is around 2.8 million dollars.
“You also have the Nasinu Land purchase currently involved in a major subdivision in Nadawa this year they’ll be substantial amount of residential lots available. It’s going to be 150 residential lots,150 residential lots and they’ve also given 10 acres for the construction of a school”
Part of the 50 acre land will also accommodate the resettlement of squatters.
“And there’s another 10 acres to resettle the squatters just around that place Nadawa,that is given by the Nasinu Land Purchase to resettle all the squatters”
The need for more houses is due to Nasinu being over populated.
“It is actually increasing by 2 percent every year, currently we have about 120,000 people in Nasinu and it’s increasing every year”
Another capital development due to be completed this year is the construction of the new Laqere Market.
The new market is estimated to cost around 2.4 million dollars.
