The country’s road death toll continues to rise.
55-year-old retired school teacher Virisila Sukaleca became the latest life lost on our road.
The fatal incident happened after the vehicle she was travelling in veered off road the Kings Road in Nalawa this morning.
The incident took place at around 5.30 this morning
Sukaleca was travelling in a Toyota Fielder Rental car with her 52-year-old husband Seveci Kelikeli-ula an employee of Vatukoula Gold Mines who was driving at the time of the accident.
It is alleged he lost control of the vehicle and veered off road.
They were both rushed to Nanukuloa Hospital in Nalawa where Sukaleca later died.
Kelikeli-ula is still admitted under observation.
The couple was on their way to Suva from Tavua when the incident happened.
Investigations continue.
