In American Samoa, starting from tomorrow, all high school sports are to be cancelled in American Samoa because of a lack of transportation.
A notice issued late on Friday by the education department says the cancellation is due to limited bus transportation.
According to the public notice, the department’s main priority is in instruction and making sure all students have adequate transportation to and from school.
The cancellation affects the softball and basketball league for public and private high schools.
The last time school sports were cancelled was two years ago because of fights among schools in which school buses were stoned, causing injuries to students and damages to the buses.
