A woman has been charged with one count of Act With Intent to Cause Grievous Harm after she allegedly threw a hot iron at her 9 year old son.
The mother of seven was disappointed with her son for coming home late from school on several occasions and threw the hot iron at her son for this.
The matter was reported to police by the 9-year-old boy’s class teacher who noticed bruises on the child’s back.
The incident occurred in Ba with the suspect already being produced at the Lautoka Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Police is again reminding parents not to resort to such measures when disciplining their children.
