The parts of road that link from the Savusavu junction to its town has been damaged.
This is infront of the Urata Village where one side of the road has been washed away.
Villagers say they experienced strong tidal waves which also washed away the roads here.
“Right now we are still waiting for the Fiji Road Authority on their rehabilitation program, we have got partial of the road which has been closed due to storm surged and the heavy waves have eaten the part of the roads,” said Divisional Planning Officer North, Alipate Bolelevu.
Some parts of the roads in the Bua to Nabauwalu corridor has also been damaged
“For the general public that road is single lane now just because of safety, thats is one of the main link to Savusavu to Labasa and to Nabouwalu for the travelling public if they want to go out of Savusavu,” he added
