The European Union and Fiji continues to strengthen political and economic ties.
Officials from Brussels led by EU Ambassador Andrew Jacobs, met with the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Balmindar Singh at the Fiji Parliament.
Discussions ranged on sustainable development in particular labour rights, ways to strengthen EU-Fiji trade links and create business opportunities for Fijian enterprises, producers and exporters.
The economic challenges created by Cyclone Winston and EU support to help address these were also discussed, as was the pending ratification of the Economic Partnership Agreement by Fiji.
