The State of Natural Disaster declaration ends today with humanitarian and rehabilitation efforts continuing.
The declaration which was initially effective from February following the devastation by Tropical Cyclone Winston was extended for another 30 days from the 21st of last month.
The declaration allowed affected communities to continue receiving relief supplies and allowed disaster officials to coordinate with police.
The extension period also allowed health authorities to make provisions against any possible disease outbreak in severely affected areas.
It also allowed disaster officials to fully utilise available foreign services and expertise in relief and recovery support.
