“Virtual Museum Project” an access to Fiji’s History online

This is after the “Virtual Museum Project” was launched this morning.

People can now access all the things kept in the Museum while sitting at home.

The project was launched at Naitasiri High school by the Minister for Education Dr Mahendra Reddy this morning.

“Over 1300 individual photographs are on display with over 35,000 words of description researched, written and incorporated into the Virtual Museum to provide for an enhanced educational experience for visitors,” said Dr Mahendra Reddy – Minister for Education

“The Virtual Museum scales to screen size so that it can be viewed on PCs,laptops, tablets and phones. Added to this, all work was done in Fiji, by Fiji-owned businesses and Fiji-based staff, working closely with staff from the Fiji Museum. As well as being a powerful educational tool, the Virtual Museum is also an influential marketing tool for the Fiji Museum. It gives them a strong online presence that will raise their profile globally, as well as here in Fiji. The Virtual Museum is content driven and has been designed to be easy to navigate, visually stunning and educationally focused.Ladies and Gentleman, the Bainimarama Government will not leave any stones unturned in its quest to provide quality education to all Fijians no matter where they are located,” he said.

The Education Minister says this is part of the Government ‘s “Education Dream”.
