The Ministry of Communication has revealed in parliament that their only role was to oversee regulatory provisions met in the sale of Sky Pacific to Digicel.
Opposition member, Aseri Radrodro asked the Minister of Communication to reveal the condition of the sale.
“The CEO for Fiji TV reported in his press release the condition of the sale was subject to AG approval so that is the basis of question what was the condition and why is it that we the current disc holders has been access by the people in the rural areas through the Sky Disc TV,”said Aseri Radrodro – Opposition Member.
“The Sky Pacific, Digicel they are not government entities we do not know the term and condition of sales and purchases we simply look after the regularities side of the issuing of the licenses,” said Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum – Attorney General.
