eight_col_Kane_Williamson_16x10Kane Williamson is set to be confirmed as the New Zealand Cricket captain across all three formats of the game.

New Zealand Cricket is expected to announce the appointment at a media conference in Auckland this afternoon.

The 25-year-old top order batsman has been the obvious successor to Brendon McCullum who retired in February.
He led the Black Caps to the semi-finals of the Twenty20 world cup in India last month but there has been a delay in making his appointment permanent.

That delay hasn’t been on the part of New Zealand Cricket but it’s understood Williamson wanted to time to consider taking up the reins in all three formats given he could be in the role for the next ten years.

Since making his international debut in 2010 Williamson has scored 13 test centuries in just 48 tests and averages over 49.
