The 20-year-old man who posted a picture of child on Facebook saying he would like to have sex with her has been charged with indecently insulting and annoying any person.
Police has commenced investigations two days ago into the social media post by the young man joking that he intended to commit a sexual crime on an underaged girl.
A day after a complaint was lodged, police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed police would pursue the matter.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho also expressed “serious concerns about the nature of the post stating, at a time when the nation is working towards eradicating this issue and looking at ways of protecting our children from becoming victims of such crimes, making a joke of such an issue is sickening.”
The man will appear in court at 2 this afternoon.
