The Social Democratic Liberal Party has confirmed there are five people vying for the leadership of the party.
In a message to all supporters, the Secretary General says all 5 applications have been vetted and meet the requirements under the Electoral Decree 2014.
The 5 candidates are current vice president Anare Jale, former Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, current MP’s Ratu Isoa Tikoca, Viliame Gavoka and Ro Kiniviliame Kiliraki.
The 5 candidates will be assessed on the Party Leader Selection Criteria adopted by the Management Board.
The 1st round of interviews will take place on Wednesday next week.
The appointment of the Party Leader will be made by the General Assembly on Friday 24th June, during the party’s general assembly.
