Six people are in custody after they were found with dried leaves believed to be marijuana in three separate cases reported in the Northern Division.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho had directed his Divisional Police Commanders to step up on the policing of drug related activities.
In the first report, an 18-year-old of Naodamu, Labasa is in custody after he was found in possession of 2 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana on Sunday afternoon at Tuatua, Labasa.
The second incident reported yesterday, three men aged 21, 23 and 20 are also in custody after 4 sachets of dried leaves were found in their possession in Naodamu, Labasa.
In the third incident also reported yesterday, a 40-year-old woman and a man were arrested after 6 plastic packets containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana were found in their possession along the Naodamu Feeder Road.
