There have been reports of people trying to beat the ticketing system for the Chiefs versus Crusaders match at the ANZ National Stadium last night.
People tried to enter the stadium with photocopied or re-using the tickets.
Chief Operations Officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu however says such attempts from people were not successful.
“They were handed to us. We were also given some identities of some people. There were few such incidents and we handled it very well at the front gate,” ACP Tudravu said.
More than 200 police officers were put on duty to ensure the first ever Super Rugby match in the country is incident free.
Police also used drone to assist with the operations.
ACP Tudravu says Fiji Police Force is optimistic that last night’s successful operations will result in similar events heading our way in the not too distant future.
“There are a lot of lessons learnt for us in this operations. Demand from the Chiefs were really high for us to comply with. We have managed to get our manpower deployed, contingency plan was in place and we equipped our men well”
