The newly appointed Fiji Pearls Coach – Vicki Wilson will tonight begin her program with Fiji Netball working with the Under-20.
This is all part and parcel of her work and she is already eager to see them have a run with the Fiji Pearls to gauge their fitness and areas of improvement.
It will also lay the platform for her.
“For the last four years I’ve been with the New Zealand Ferns and we’ve had the opportunity to play a couple of Test matches against the Pearls and I also watched them at the Netball World Cup in Sydney. So very talented team, very skillful so the next four months I will sit down with them and map out a plan on a way we can hopefully move forward in the international rankings and really have to be able to be competitive with those teams that are set higher than us,” said Vicki Wilson the Fiji Pearls Coach.
International netball has always been at the forefront of her mind and she ceased the opportunity when she found out that the Pearls were without a coach.
“It’s something that I’ve always been passionate about to see the growth of the game continue throughout the world but especially the Oceania region and that was really the stepping stone for me when I did the work for Netball New Zealand. So an opportunity to work with the National team, to work with the Pearls and to also work with the U20 and to develop the depth,” said Vicki Wilson.
