Reddy tells of way forward

Tarunesh ReddyThe Vodafone Fiji national team are to play 12 international matches by May, next year to prepare for the Oceania Nations Cup and also to improve their ranking with FIFA.

National team director Tarunesh Reddy said they had plans to play at least 10 to 12 International matches by May 2016.

“We have planned our self on how we are going to prepare for the Oceania Football Confederation Pacific Nations Cup,” he said.

“By May 2016 before the OFC Pacific Nations Cup start, we have planned to play at least 10 to 12 international matches.”

Reddy said with the Asian tour lined-up for the national team this year they had earlier planned for more International matches.

He said they had plans at the beginning of the year that the national team would play at least seven international friendly games in 2015

Reddy said apart from playing Tonga and American Samoa they have plans for three more International tours

“After these two matches and after FIFA transfer window opens we are planning to go for an Asian tour but we still waiting for confirmation from some of the countries”, he said

The national team will play American Samoa on Thursday, August 27, at Prince Charles Park in Nadi at 7pm.
