11 companies have received more than a million dollar government grant to boost their businesses under the National Export Strategy in Suva.
This is the 10th year for the Strategy to support the local businesses.
Trade and Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya said the programme has made a difference in terms of increasing exporter’s contribution to Fiji’s national growth and development.
The strategy was developed in 2006 to achieve sustainable economic growth through encouraging competitiveness, value addition and export diversification.
39 applications were received by the ministry which went through rigorous screening processes and assessment after which 11 companies were selected to be awarded government grants.
