The Land Transport Authority board has decided not to renew the contract of its Chief Executive Naisa Tuinaceva.
This is has been confirmed to Fiji One News by the LTA Board Chairman, Vijay Maharaj.
Maharaj says Tuinaceva has now been sent on three months leave, which he had accumulated.
Tuinaceva’s contract expires on the 31st of December this year.
The Board has also decided to advertise the new CEO’s position tomorrow and are seeking for suitable candidates from Fiji and abroad.
An advertisement with details will be released in the dailies tomorrow.
Former General Manager Operations Aptinko Vaurasi has been seconded from the LTA Board to act in the position.
Tuinaceva took on the role as the CEO on the 20th of September in 2010.
He was the General Manager Operations back then.
Meanwhile, the Board chairman says there are ongoing investigations at the LTA for alleged corrupt practices in which two senior staff were earlier suspended.
A full inquiry is underway and LTA has not confirmed whether Tuinaceva is currently under investigation.
