The Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Board has put in place stringent measures to ensure students do no flee the country without paying their dues after studies.
Board Chief Executive says names of all students from 2014 are put on a Controversial List to avoid them escaping from the country.
There are also names of students who were on Multi Ethnic, Fijian Affairs Board and Public Service Commission Scholarship.
The Board is working closely with the Immigration Department on this.
“Which means that anytime, any student who is bonded under the Fiji Government’s schemes wishes to travel out of Fiji, they will have to get a written approval from TSLB, otherwise they will be stopped at the departure points of the airport,” said the of CEO, TSLB, Bobby Maraharaj.
