Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will soon be traveling to Auckland where he is expected to receive a State welcome.
It has been confirmed that Bainimarama will leave the country this Thursday.
But first Bainimarama travels to Sydney to be part of the Fiji day celebrations.
New Zealand Prime Minister John Key made an official visit to Fiji back in June , it was during this visit when Key invited Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama to visit and he’s now accepted it.
Bainimarama will be attending the Fiji day celebrations in Sydney which will be held this weekend.
The Prime Minister then leaves for Auckland.
New Zealand Prime Minister John Key told New Zealand media it was “highly likely” Bainimarama would come for the Bledisloe Cup match at Eden Park on October 22.
“I think he is trying to put the relationship on a better footing and the relationship is a lot deeper than just between the leaders,” Key said.
“It’s nothing terribly personal towards me, he doesn’t like New Zealand’s stance on the coup and the action we took.”
Bainimarama is expected to open a symposium in Sydney and then go on to New Zealand where he will make a speech in Auckland.
