Fiji will host the Oceania 7s next month.
The Fiji Rugby Union made the announcement today where 10 mens and 7 womens team will take part.
But it’s highly likely Manager Ropate Kauvesi and Trainer Nacanieli Cawanibuka will look after the side.
Good news for rugby fans as we get to witness some top level action before the start of the world series.
The Oceania 7s will be held here at the ANZ Stadium and it will be the first time the tournament will fully combine the men’s and women’s championships.
‘The Fiji Rugby Union is excited the Oceania 7s championships will be able to host the history making olympic gold medalists Fiji,’FRU CEO John O’Connor said.
The tournament will also serve as a qualification to some world 7s series tournaments.
‘It is speacial that Fijian rugby fans can see them in action here at home,’O’Connor added.
The New Zealand mens and womens teams will not feature in the tournament but it will not affect the level of competition.
The Oceania rugby 7s championships will be held at the ANZ Stadium on the 11th and 12th of next month
