The Minister of Education Dr Mahendra Reddy has highlighted that more students have benefited from the Tertiary Education Scholarships and Loan Scheme.
Dr Reddy told Parliament that this assistance will continue in the future.
“In 2013, based on the previous financial scheme, we had a total of 5, 434 students studying at various tertiary institutions, under the old scheme, the I-taukei, Multi-ethnic, PSC, etc. In 2014 under the new financial scheme , a total of 12, 943 was studying at various tertiary institutions of a total budget of $83.5 million this figure represents a substantial increase by 7, 509 additional students studying at various institutions ” said Dr Reddy
