Arvin Datt, Director of 3SA Carpet & Furnishing, was surprised to hear he had won the 5th prize in the FASANOC lottery drawn on Friday, 29th September at Olympic House.
He said, “I was happy to help out but wasn’t expecting to win a prize”.
Arvin, through his company, bought 100 lottery books under the Team Fiji Champion banner to assist Weightlifting Fiji in their fund raising campaign to attend the Pacific Mini Games in December and the Commonwealth Games next year.
The Team Fiji Champion is a project that is run in conjunction with the FASANOC Lottery.
The program gives the corporate community an opportunity to assist Team Fiji and the National Federations. In return, the joining company gets publicity for their organization through FASANOC’s various communications channels and annual report along with invitations to Team Fiji functions.
They also receive Team Fiji Champion merchandise kit consisting of: 1 x Special Edition Team Fiji Bula Shirt and 1 x Special Edition Team Fiji Polo T/shirt.
Ritesh Ratiram, General Secretary of Weightlifting Fiji, met Mr Datt at Olympic House earlier today to congratulate him on his win and to thank him for his generosity in helping Weightlifting Fiji send their athletes to major International competitions.
“We’re a minority sport and funding is always a challenge and so we are grateful to organizations like 3SA Carpets in buying lottery tickets for us”, said Mr Ratiram.
