Roger Federer has clinched the inaugural Laver Cup, tennis’s answer to the Ryder Cup for team Europe over team World in Prague.
The Swiss great battled back from a set down and saved a match point before beating Aussie Nick Kyrgios in a super tiebreak to win the Cup 15 points to 9.
Federer thinks the three day event has been a resounding success.
“The camaraderie as you saw was amazing was amazing we were all so happy and you know time will tell how but te Laver Cup will become, but the first one is officially over, I can’t wait o get my hands on the trophy.”
Earlier John Isner had beaten world number one Rafael Nadal in straight sets to keep the world team alive.
