John McKee has kept his faith in his young first five eighth Ben Volavola.
Many fans have taken to social media, questioning McKee’s selection of Volavola ahead of Josh Matavesi in the last two games.
But McKee has defended his selection based on a number of reasons.
‘The selection that’s probably one of our most difficult selection as first five and we’ve got two very good players they both offer slightly different things to the team,’ McKee said.
McKee is also clearing the air on why Volavola is preferred at first five.
‘There has been a lot of discussions around the table, Ben got the nod against the Australians based on the fact that we wanted to keep developing the combinations to get some improvements from the first game and the second game, McKee added.
But Matavesi is expected to get some game time against Wales on Friday.
The Flying Fijians will play Wales at 3:45am on Friday.
