A student of Sarswati College shared her views on the important role school managements play in ensuring quality education.
Torika Rokotuibau who spoke at the Annual Conference of the School Management Association of Fiji said students are excited about the establishment of the Association to uphold the vision of quality education.
She said this is to ensure that every Fijian student educational hopes are guaranteed and be an asset to any field they choose a career in.
“Some of these issues that we’re aware of for instance abuse of office, mismanagement of funds, dominant personalities, know all attitude, wrong priorities, failure to develop infrastructure, limited maintenance programs, uncertain about the introduction of technology has split school managements apart and creating havoc and problems for school communities” said Rokotuibau
As a student Rokotuibau is confident that the association will provide the much needed guidance to schools around the country.
“From a students perspective , the School Management Association of Fiji is now in a position to guide and train individual school managements so that they have the capacity to efficiently manage the operations of their school, ability to negotiate with suppliers to make available resources and network with stakeholders to formulate the development and improvement of programmes ” said Rokotuibau
