Monasavu landowners raise their concerns to PM

Screen shot 2015-11-04 at 7.15.25 PMPrime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will set up a task force to look into the concerns of Monasavu landowners.

In a talanoa session yesterday, members of the land-owning unit called on government to investigate an Agreement with their lawyers.

It is not the first talanoa session where Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has had to listen to the complaints of landowners.

In the interior of Naitasiri a landowning unit made it known that they are concerned about the manner in which they have been legally represented.

” Most of the work he is carrying out now on behalf of landowners he is doing it without any approval or concern from landowners that is why most landowning unit are complaining because they do not know we also have written a letter to end his work with us” said Samu Konataci

Bainimarama said he will put together a team to investigate the matter.

” Your concern if you want any clarification please write a letter of concern to the PM office and I will assigned a task force team to look in to your concern so that you will have some answers to what you have raise today whether it is in favour or not “. said Bainimarama

Former Commissioner Western, Joeli Cawaki also shed light on a meeting between him and landowning unit reps.

Bainimarama assured them that he will look at the matter and urged the people of Naitasiri to be aware of the many lies that people are spreading to indigenous people.

” Do not listen to some lie been spreading around about indigenous business please do not listen to it because some people who are involved in it can bring problems to our economy “. said Bainimarama

Bainimarama was in Naitasiri to open the new Wainisavulevu project.
