The Vodafone Fiji Futsal side were thumped 8 nil in the first match of the inaugural Trans-Pacific Cup at ASB Stadium in Auckland.
New Zealand enjoyed majority of possession in the opening half but the national side scrambled well to frustrate the Futsal Whites.
It was until just before halftime, when Kareem Osman scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Daniel Burns.
Futsal Whites led 1 nil.
But it was totally a different ball game in the second half as the New Zealanders scored 7 more goal and set the platform in the Trans Pacific.
Fiji is expected to come out stronger when they face New Zealand again in the second match at 8pm tonight.
