While the third year of the Fiji International wrapped up at the Natadola Championship Golf Course yesterday, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama feels it blends in well with the goals set by the Sports Ministry.
As it continues to attract more professional golfers from overseas, Bainimarama is adamant that while at Natadola, golfers not only enjoy the tournament but other attractions to make it a family affair.
“When I speak about my Government’s aspirations for attracting International competitions, the level of play that we saw in the past week is exactly what I envisioned. The millions of viewers watching this week had a chance to watch some great golf and see what Fiji has to offer the golfing world. I’m sure viewers cannot wait to come to Fiji and try out this beautiful course at Natadola for themselves.”
Bainimarama also thanked those that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the Championship a success.
“I want to officially thank all our competitors for an impressive week of play, our trainers and caddies, volunteers for giving us the much needed support on the ground, our sponsors for making this tournament possible and the fans and the supporters from all over the world tuned in for this tournament.”
