The Fiji Airways new route to Singapore will start from the 5th of April next year.
Minister for Public Enterprise, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says that with new flight it means that Fiji Airways will now be able to cover nearly all parts of the Pacific Ocean.
“As government we are really excited about this direct flight to Singapore it means that once Fiji Airways starts flying to Singapore flight from Fiji will fly to every single continental that rim the Pacific Ocean except South America so basically covering all angle of the Pacific Rim which means that Fiji will in a better position and government perspective it means more jobs for Fijian people,” revealed Sayed-Khaiyum.
The flights will operate from the Nadi International Airport on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Fiji Airways also stated the reasons on why they have choose to fly to Singapore.
“Singapore today is rated by the World Bankers the World easiest place to do business it has a population of 5.4 million people what is significant that every year 8 million people travel outbound from Singapore that is about 7 to 8 thousand of GDP per person so it is one of the world leading market and it shows how modern they are and how they have a incredible distribution system,” said Fiji Airways CEO, Andre Viljeon.
