The Lautoka High Court yesterday granted bail for 16 people who are charged with sedition in the Nadroga-Navosa sovereign Christian state matter.
They are charged with one count each of sedition and one count each of inciting communal antagonism under the Crimes Decree 2009.
The Defence had filed bail application for the 5 accused persons based on medical grounds.
They are Ulaiasi Tuivono, Peniasi Naqau, Semi Tanikili, Raicula Rokovou and Seru Kunalagi.
The State did not object to bail after considering an Affidavit of the Prisons physician who confirmed that the five accused persons could not be treated at the prisons.
Defence had also filed bail application for the remaining accused persons to which the State objected citing Prosecution has a strong case.
The State also informed the Court that police investigations had concluded.
The Court granted bail to all accused persons but on strict conditions.
